Construction Begins in Day Supports

Plans for completely changing the physical layout in Day Supports were finalized in December 2008 and construction started in January 2009.  The new design includes two large program areas with five adjoining activity rooms.  The repositioning rooms will be expanded with space to accommodate twice as many people, and will include an accessible restroom.  The plan also includes new locker areas for employees and enrolled individuals.

The new layout will provide greater security and improved functional use of space with decreased distractions and quieter rooms.

During construction, the program is operating in the south end of the building, primarily in the two in-service training rooms.  Several employee offices have been re-located, mostly in meeting rooms.  Travel between some sections of the building is being re-routed (outside) in order to allow the work to proceed uninterrupted.

Check back during the construction period for updates.
