A contract was signed with a local construction company on August 27th, and ground was broken August 28, 2008 on an eight unit apartment building in Rolla, ND. As of October 1st, vertical concrete work was complete (see picture) and the project is on schedule.
MVAW plans to utilize the building to offer residential services for people with disabilities. Interested individuals should contact the Lake Region Human Service Center in Devils Lake for eligibility screening. Rent subsidies are available through Rolette County Housing Authority; applications can be submitted now to get on the waiting list.
The building will be ready for occupancy in June 2009. People interested in joining MVAW in Rolla should plan to submit an employment application in April.
