2010 Chili Cook-Off

On February 22nd, MVAW hosted the annual Chili Cook-off.  Eight groups entered a wide variety of recipes, from white chili with chicken to steak and potato chili.  Of course some entries featured traditional chili with beef, red beans, and varying degrees of spice.

 

Sponsored by MVAW’s Wellness Committee, the event is designed to give people the opportunity to participate in all aspects of food preparation, cooking, booth design, booth construction, and customer service (manning the booth during public tasting).  Staff provide support as needed to ensure that all interested participants have the opportunity to be involved in the fun.  Contestants report that the experience is both enjoyable and educational.

 

Winners for 2010:

Best Chili:  MSLA’s “Harry Farter” Chili

Best Decorated Booth:  1105’s “Boilermakers”

Spirit Award:  1101’s “Four Amigos”
