On March 18th, a Quality Enhancement Specialist from the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) granted MVAW accredited status for an additional four years. Since MVAW was the second agency in the world to attain accreditation under CQL’s revolutionary Quality Measures 2005 SM in April 2006, we are now one of the first agencies to go through re-accreditation and have worked with CQL to define the process.
An accreditation review based on Quality Measures 2005 SM covers all aspects of an agency, and focuses on continued growth and development. Once compliance with the basics is achieved, CQL works with the organization to further develop individualized services that lead to positive individual outcomes and enhanced community involvement.
MVAW’s site visit focused on community life – a look at issues facing the entire community (not just people with disabilities), and how MVAW can get involved with potential solutions.
