- People are supported to maintain and strengthen relationships with their families to provide a safety net and a sense of security.
- People are supported to define their own personal preferences for relationships and types of intimacy.
- People are supported to live, recreate and work in environments that meet expectations for safety, sanitation and emergency evacuation.
- People are supported to define their “best possible health”; health care interventions are based on individualized definitions and needs.
- People are responsible for exercising their human and civil rights.
- People are treated fairly and have a right to be heard, to be informed of options, to give consent and make decisions that impact their lives.
